Biography
Hey there, fellow Guitar Enthusiast
I am Emerson Salazar
guitarist and guitar teacher with an artistic career spanning over twenty years in the field of classical guitar. I have been awarded at the Andrés Segovia Competition in La Herradura, Miguel Llobet Competition in Barcelona, and Luis Sigall Competition in Viña del Mar. I have performed in various cities around the world, both as a soloist and with my project Duarte-Salazar Duo.
My interest and commitment to South American music are evident in my CDs “Danzas de Fuego” and “Zamba Negra”. In 2013, I premiered John McLaughlin’s concerto for guitar and orchestra, “Thieves and Poets,” in Israel, closely linking myself to the world of improvised music. In 2017, I wrote my thesis “Improvisation: expressiveness and creativity in relative freedom” on improvisation in classical music.
In addition to my artistic career, I work as a guitar teacher in the cities of Gilching and Landshut in Germany, where I organize a series of four concerts a year with young guitarists from different countries, connecting new generations with guitar learners.
